so i was told at the end of july that i should start blogging again. i gave that opinion some more thought. truth was, i didnt have much to blog about and my summer schedule was not the most relaxing in my last few weeks before i went back to school. but now, after being in RA training for the past week and getting to know some awesome people, it is time for me to start again.

so as many of my hopefully frequent readers have hopefully grasped is that i am a resident assistant at my college. this is my third and final year. for this final year, i am in a different building than i was the previous two years. so far, transferring buildings is one of the best life decisions i have made thus far. it has made me realize many things about social settings and residence life.
1. when you are surrounded by positive things, the positiveness in other people rubs off onto you.
2. RA's are probably the best people to share thoughts and life experiences with.
3. any jobs supervisors that allow fun and creativeness in the workplace set up a place where there is far less conflict and more motivation for each individual member of their team.
4. another thought which has come to mind this week is that creativity is sparked by those around you. think about that. it kind of lies in the same line as having a positive outlook.
5. when opportunity knocks, you should run out the door and join it. no matter what you may look to other people.

truth is, i have sat through RA training four times prior to this semester. i can be called a veteran RA. hollller. but seriously, i will never stop learning. i learn so much from the people around me as it pertains to the job and other lifes social processes. this really applies to other aspects of each persons life, whether they are a community building RA or not. it is IMPERATIVE to keep learning.

another really important thing which i would like to discuss is the act of being genuine. i consider myself a genuine person. it is very important to be genuine in every aspect of your life. it makes you trustworthy, respectable as well as personable. without genuineness, the world would be one fake plastic (BPA loaded) place.

with that, if you are a college kid. give an RA a chance. it turns out most of them are amazing people with just as much as a life story as you have. furthermore, live life positive, learn always and be genuine. it will get you far.
